Dr. Ashley Gearhardt is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Michigan, specializing in the science of ultra-processed food addiction. She created the Yale Food Addiction Scale, cited over 1,000 times and translated into more than a dozen languages. Her research explores the neurobiological and behavioral factors behind problematic eating. She has published over 190 peer-reviewed articles and testified before the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives on the addictive nature of ultra-processed foods. She has been identified as one of the world’s Top 2% of Scientists.

Dr. Gearhardt is a leading expert in the field of ultra-processed food and addiction and developed the main tool to assess it.
